What the BXL does

The Orion 02 BXL is the primary Orion controller in an expandable ecosystem. It coordinates system-level logic—charge/discharge limits (CCL/DCL), contactor control, fault handling, and telemetry—while Remote (REM) controllers provide localized cell supervision at distributed packs. This architecture shortens HV cable runs, improves packaging, and enables isolation between segments.

Expandable vs. Standard

Choose BXL + REM when…

  • You need split or distributed packs across the platform.
  • Safety or compliance requires HV isolation between sections.
  • Reducing harness length improves weight, resistance, or EMI.
  • Modularity and serviceable sub-assemblies are priorities.

Choose Standard when…

  • A single centralized controller can service the whole pack.
  • There’s no need for split packs or remote nodes.
  • Space and harnessing allow one mounting location.
Dependency: The BXL requires at least one REM. It is not compatible with the Orion 02 Standard controller.

No. The BXL is the primary controller and requires one or more REM nodes.

Is the BXL compatible with Orion 02 Standard?

No. BXL is part of the Expandable ecosystem and pairs with REM—not the Standard controller.
