Lithium Block™ Busbar
Lithium Block™ Busbar
Electroless nickel-plated aluminum busbars for series and parallel interconnection of Lithium Block™ modules. Available in 2-hole (series) and 4-hole (parallel) configurations — includes M6 hardware and Belleville washers for secure, repeatable connections.
- EN Plated Aluminum
- 2-Hole & 4-Hole
- M6 Hardware Included
- Made in USA
Choose your configuration
2-Hole Busbar
Standard inter-module series connection. Links two adjacent Lithium Block™ modules (positive terminal → negative terminal) in a single-row stack. One busbar per module-to-module junction.
- Most common configuration
- Used with the Bracket System rows
- Compatible with Busbar Covers
4-Hole Busbar
Parallel connection busbar designed to join four Lithium Block™ modules in parallel. Four M6 bolt positions tie together the same-polarity terminals of four modules to build higher-capacity parallel groups before series stringing.
- Connects 4 modules in parallel
- Higher capacity parallel groups
- Compatible with Busbar Covers
Why electroless nickel-plated aluminum?
Bare aluminum forms an oxide layer that increases contact resistance over time — a problem for high-current battery interconnects. The electroless nickel (EN) plating on each Lithium Block™ busbar solves this:
- Corrosion resistance — EN creates a uniform, pore-free barrier against oxidation, even in humid or marine environments.
- Low, stable contact resistance — nickel surface maintains consistent conductivity across M6 bolt joints over the life of the pack.
- Lightweight vs. copper — aluminum substrate keeps busbar mass low without sacrificing current-carrying capacity at Lithium Block™ operating currents.
- Belleville washers maintain preload — included spring washers compensate for thermal cycling and vibration to prevent joint loosening.

FAQs
When do I use the 2-hole vs. 4-hole busbar?
The 2-hole busbar is for series connections — it links two adjacent modules (positive terminal → negative terminal) in a row. The 4-hole busbar is for parallel connections — it ties together the same-polarity terminals of four Lithium Block™ modules to build a higher-capacity parallel group before series stringing.
Why electroless nickel instead of tin or bare aluminum?
Electroless nickel provides superior corrosion resistance and lower, more stable contact resistance than bare aluminum or tin plating. The uniform, autocatalytic deposition covers all surfaces evenly — including inside bolt holes — for consistent electrical performance across the full joint.
Do I need busbars if I'm buying the Bracket System?
The Bracket System includes 2-hole busbars for complete rows. You only need to order standalone busbars if you require additional series junctions, 4-hole variants, or custom routing beyond the standard row layout.
What torque spec should I use?
Follow the torque specification in the Lithium Block™ Manual for M6 busbar connections. The Belleville washers are sized to maintain preload within that spec range through thermal cycling.
Are these compatible with both GEN 1 and GEN 2 modules?
Yes. The busbar bolt pattern and insert geometry is shared across GEN 1 and GEN 2 Lithium Block™ modules in all parallel configurations (5P–10P).
